What a pico laser does that an older laser does not
A picosecond laser fires pulses measured in trillionths of a second. The pulse is short enough that pigment shatters mechanically before the surrounding tissue has time to heat up, which is the difference that matters: less heat means less risk of the burn-then-darken reaction that troubles darker skin.
That reaction has a name, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and it is the main reason a nanosecond Q-switched laser can leave a Filipino patient worse off than before. The shorter pulse does not remove the risk. It lowers it.
Why one clinic charges ₱9,600 and another ₱21,600
The two figures in the table are not the same treatment. Belo publishes ₱9,600 per session for the armpits and ₱21,600 per session for the face. The area treated is the variable, not the clinic being expensive.
Before comparing two quotes, ask which device, which area, and how many sessions are included. A quote that names only the word pico cannot be compared with anything.
How many sessions it really takes
Pigment does not clear in one pass. Published protocols for melasma and sun spots generally run three to six sessions spaced three to four weeks apart, and tattoo removal runs longer than that.
Multiply before you decide. A ₱21,600 session that needs four passes is an ₱86,400 course, which puts it in the same bracket as treatments people think of as far more expensive.
Who should not have it
Anyone pregnant. Anyone with an active infection or an open lesion in the area. Anyone on isotretinoin recently, where clinics usually ask for a gap.
And anyone whose pigmentation is melasma driven by hormones rather than sun. Laser can improve that appearance and can also rebound it, which is why a clinic that does not discuss the hormonal side before booking is not assessing you properly.

We checked nineteen clinics that rank in Google for pico laser and related treatments in Metro Manila. Four publish a price anywhere on their own website. The other fifteen publish none, including CorDerm, SkinStation, Kamiseta Skin Clinic, Spectrumed, Avignon, Soi Clinic, Luminisce, Aivee and Shinagawa.
Every figure in the table above links to the page where the clinic published it and carries the date we read it. When a clinic changes its price, the date tells you how stale ours is. Nothing here is estimated, and nothing is filled in from a competitor's guess.

How much does pico laser cost in the Philippines?
Of the nineteen clinics we checked, four publish a price. Belo publishes ₱9,600 per session for the armpits and ₱21,600 per session for the face. Wunderskin publishes ₱20,000 for PicoSure Pro. Both figures are linked and dated in the table above. The rest do not publish, so we do not guess on their behalf.
Is pico laser better than Q-switched?
For pigment in darker skin it is generally the safer choice, because the shorter pulse shatters pigment with less heat and therefore less risk of post-inflammatory darkening. Better is not automatic: the operator and the settings matter more than the badge on the machine.
How many sessions will I need?
Published protocols usually run three to six sessions three to four weeks apart for pigmentation. Ask for the expected number before the first session and multiply it by the per-session price.
Does it hurt?
It is described as a rubber band snap repeated quickly. Most clinics offer numbing cream for the face and most people tolerate the armpits without it.
Can it make melasma worse?
Yes. Melasma driven by hormones can rebound after laser, sometimes darker than before. A clinic that does not raise this before booking is not assessing you.
